Come on, Irene

The power went out in Casa de Saunders four and a half hours ago, and has just come back on.  Since I like to make hay while the sun shines, I’ll post while I can.

Here in my corner of northerm coastal New England, Hurricane Irene has been little more than a bad windstorm.  We got very little rain, and the winds have been high but not too terribly fierce.  When the power went out, I headed to the local supermarket and was even able to find D batteries for our Coleman lantern, so panic clearly passed the locals by.

Anyhow, for giggles here’s how Irene looked around here.
