Russell Saunders

Russell Saunders is the ridiculously flimsy pseudonym of a pediatrician in New England. He has a husband, three sons, daughter, cat and dog, though not in that order. 1. In reality, there is, perhaps, no one of our natural passions so hard to subdue as pride. Disguise it, struggle with it, beat it down, stifle it, mortify it as much as one pleases, it is still alive, and will every now and then peep out and show itself; you will see it, perhaps, often in this history; for, even if I could conceive that I had compleatly overcome it, I should probably be proud of my humility.

  2. This happens in all reality shows. I watch Master Chef, and people routinely talk about how much better they are than the remaining contestants, instead of fessing up with, “Well, shoot, I squandered this opportunity to learn more about cooking by paying too much attention to how great I thought I was and how terrible I thought these other people were”.
