LEGO for Adults
LEGO sets have a suggested age range, which can be helpful when buying a set for young children, but, really, the company should do away with the range and simply post a minimum age. Older teens and adults should be made to feel no social stigma for purchasing and playing with the wonder blocks. I have a full mind to scrimp and save for every last Lord of the Rings LEGO set, and half a mind to buy two of each so I can display the fantastic constructions in my office at work.
I’m not a lone adult here. LEGO could make a killing catering sets to us. On the off chance some executive of the company stumbles on this blog, I make the following suggestions for adult LEGO sets. As you’ll no doubt notice, I’m not thinking only of me, but of adults in general. Some of my suggested sets I would probably not go out of my way to purchase. Probably not.
1. Game of Thrones – Suggested scenes include Arya Stark training with Syrio Forel, the trial of Tyrion Lannister, and the Knight of Flowers challenging the Mountain.
2. Fifty Shades of Grey – Not having read this novel, I can’t say what scenes would make the best constructions, but I’m sure there’s a seduction scene or two LEGO could use. Definitely should offer a limited edition set of Moms at the Beach Reading the Book.
3. Rush – The Canadian rock band has its religious devotees, as this comment thread shows; these would sell. Lots of crazy props.
4. The Joss Whedon Collection: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, The Avengers, Cabin in the Woods, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog–the LEGO heads would be fools not to manufacture these!
5. Anna Karenina – Classic novel, soon to be released motion picture, horses and trains…what’s not to like?
6. Magic Mike – Yes, I went there. There’s room for LEGO beefcake.
7. Twilight – Please no jokes about the LEGO Bella Swan having more facial expression than Kristen Stewart.
8. The Final Fantasy collection – Admittedly, I’m thinking of myself here, and these would have some crossover with the kids. Still, LEGO chocobos and airships would be indubitably cool.
9. The Dark Knight series – Think of the accessories!
Best I stop here before the day gets away from me. What imagined adult LEGO collection would you camp out for a night to get your hands on?
Breaking Bad — the trailer and the SuperLab. Maybe Los Pollos Hermanos too.
I thought you were going to have like the Playboy Mansion edition or something. But you meant “adults” not “ADULTS.”
Oh myyyy.
That would probably cross a line, upset too many parents, and be bad for business. You could push the envelope, though, with some choice scenes involving the Lannisters.

Killjoy.
They did make a Minecraft set already:

Doctor Who. The TARDIS. It’d be cool if they could make it open up and look bigger on the inside. And I’d love to have a LEGO Sonic Screwdriver. Not to mention a Dalek or two.
Love the creative ideas, Kyle!
The Dark Knight collection sounds awesome and cool.
