Wednesday!

So… what are you listening to?

With Maribou out of town, I thought I’d be listening to Guns and Roses non-stop but I’ve been rocking the Francis Dunnery disc “Tall Blonde Helicopter“. He’s got a song on the disc called “Too Much Saturn”. As he says when he plays the opening chords, “this is a song about severe emotional problems”. As much as the grumpy cynical part of me wants to take his shoe off and hit the table with it while yelling “sensitive new age crap!”, it’s only because the sensitive new age crap part of me remembers the years when this was a song about me.

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. On his “Let’s go do what happens” album, the song “Crazy is a Pitstop” opens with the sound of a touch-tone phone dialing and then a modem shaking hands with a server.

It was supposed to be the sound of the future… but I can’t remember the last time I heard a modem starting up…

  2. I love that album. Feel free to leave it in the CD player indefinitely. And I’m glad I”m home:).
