Sunday!

So… what are you reading and/or watching?

I finally cracked Game of Thrones (from my set of the first four books) yesterday to read the prologue (“just the prologue!”) and a friend came over for pizza/conversation and the topic of Fringe came up and he joined the group of folks who have told me that, yes, I need to watch it… so we all sat down and watched the first episode from the first season.

It’s pretty good. Both of them.

  1. I’m reading Heart Shaped Box today (when not cleaning). So far it’s pretty good: fast paced, tense, ghost story. I’m only about 75 pages in, but I like it so far.

As for Game of Thrones, I started it but stopped abruptly after about 100 pages. I realized I really didn’t feel like getting into another fantasy series that I would have to wait years and years for the author to complete. I’ll come back to it when Martin finishes the series.

  2. I watched the first few episodes of Fringe when it first came out but it didn’t hold my interest. However, it’s still on (which is a challenge enough for a Fox sci-fi show) and people seem to like it so I should probably give it another shot one of these days.

  3. Finally finished re-reading the first four so I could start A Dance with Dragons. It was funny to see that Tyrion used to be in charge of the drains at Casterly Rock (apparently didn’t find either bodies or pastry in them, though.)
