Somnology!

At this point, we’ve read the first five issues from the Preuludes and Nocturnes book. Glyph and Patrick did the heavy lifting with the first four issues, I did some janitorial work with the fifth. Glyph will be tackling the hard work of dealing with the grueling “24 Hours” but we will need someone to give their take on “Sound and Fury” and “The Sound Of Her Wings” for the week after that.

Any volunteers? Any thoughts? Any interest in a post “Sound Of Her Wings” Google Groups Bunch Of Talking Heads?

Edit: We have someone for The Sound Of Her Wings! Do we have any volunteers for “Sound and Fury”?

  1. I’ll do The Sound Of Her Wings”. When do you need a draft by?

    • When’s good for you? I’m going to post Glyph’s take on those two on Thursday, I won’t even think about seeing your draft until… oh… Sunday night? The 28th is when I’ll start worrying and the 30th right before bedtime is when I’ll say “I still don’t have it… I’d better write something”. So, probably, the 31st COB is the hard deadline, but the 29th-before-bedtime is the soft one.

  2. Whoops, I only did 24 Hours, I thought someone else was doing Sound & Fury. If anyone can/wants to do Sound & Fury, that’d be great – I am on kid duty this weekend while the wife works?

Otherwise, I’ll try to see what I can knock out during naptimes.

      • Thanks. Am looking at it now to see if I can come up with a way into it, in case no one else wants it. I have maybe half an idea but it’s not coalescing – I may e-mail you to see if you have any clue how to make it work.

I knew this was a story that rewarded re-reading, obviously, but I am still amazed at how much I am obviously *not* catching.

          • Maybe I can just leave it open for questions and see what others come up with. Basically, my half-idea and random thoughts still nets 2 pages!

          • Sent you what I have for Sound & Fury – if you think it makes a post, we are covered (and obviously I can edit if anything occurs to me between now and Wed).

  3. Hey JB – assuming we make it through the whole series, we are going to have a fair amount of material here, in posts and comments.

Is there any way (and apologies if it is my own technical ignorance/ineptitude here) to gather/organize all these Sandman posts under a single category header on your blog, so that if anyone is trying to catch up, or wants go back later and look at any of these, it can easily be done?

Just figured I should ask before we get much farther.
