Commerce!

Just letting you know that, this time next week, we’ll be doing the first couple of chapters of The Sandman Vol. 6: Fables and Reflections. If you ain’t ordered it, you can still get it with free shipping and it’ll still show up by Wednesday.

Also, for the four of you who read this site but not the main page, we’re going to be reading The First Circle: A Novel (The Restored Text: The First Uncensored Edition) together. I’ll be putting together an official announcement poll this weekend with a mini-biography and everything (it’s like writing a paper! I’m so nervous!) and we’ll be reading that in the coming weeks.

If there’s any books that you, seriously, want done as a group project, talk about them here. No promises but… hey. You all know what I like to read. I don’t know what you like to read. Maybe we’ll find something we’ll all fall in love with the idea of reading together.

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. I’m not suggesting this as a blog project, but if any of you have room on your reading list, and you haven’t read J.G. Farrell’s Empire Trilogy, I highly recommend that you do so. Troubles and The Siege of Krishnapur are classics.

  2. We should, at some point, do Pratchett’s Small Gods.

    • But Tiny Nietzsche told me they were dead…at least that’s what I think he said. His voice was very high-pitched, and I haven’t seen him in a few days to ask for clarification. I fear the cats may have gotten him.

      • You forgot that he also said that they’re dead because we killed them, making us all mass murderers.
