Civilization: Endgame

I’m a huge fan of the Civilization series of computer games (also the board game upon which they’re totally not based, right, Sid?)

This might be the greatest CivII-related thing I’ve ever seen.

The year is 3991 AD, and the world’s three remaining nations have been embroiled in military conflict for 1700 years. 90 percent of the world’s peak population has died due to nuclear conflict, and Vikings wield ICBMs. Welcome to the future, as predicted by a 10-year-long game of Civilization II.

Please do be so kind as to share this post.

  1. Be sure to check out the subreddit. It was only founded less than a day ago, but it’s spawned dozens of posts including a short story, some of them actually quite good. I love the Internet sometimes.

  2. Vindication, at last, for my love of CivII over its sequels. (Though I haven’t played anything past IV — what’re we up to, seven or eight by now?)

  3. I love CivII. It was one of the few games I got really into. But I didn’t even know the game could go on that long. Or that “fundamentalism” was even a choice. Are we sure this is CivII?
