So… what are you listening to?
I’m always tickled to death when I find a song that makes me say “man, I wish that they had a 15 minute remix of this”. There are very few songs that achieve that and, I think, this is one of them. If nothing else, it passed the “listen to it 10 times in a row while you’re drinking a glass of wine and working on something” test.
It seems silly when I see the sentiment written down but the lyric “yeah yeah yeah”, when done right, can carry a thousand pictures’ worth of meaning. This song does it right.
I’ve had a string of bad songs stuck in my head lately, getting worse and worse. Bon Jovi’s “Always” was replaced by Jim Croce’s “Time in a Bottle” has been replaced by “Betcha By Golly Wow” by the Stylistics.
I have to figure out what my subconscious is trying to punish me for.
Beyond that, my wife has The Eagles playing in the Forester. I’ve been listening to mixes, mostly including independent country artists.
When a song gets stuck in my head, I push it out with the Ramones.
“Fun fun, rock and roll high school”
See? Leroy Brown ain’t so bad after all. Jim Croce never stood a chance.
I learned all of the lyrics to American Pie simply by trying to sing it whenever some less desirable song would get stuck in my head. Ditto for Dust in the Wind, though that was less of an accomplishment.
Interesting to see kiwi music pop up here.
The song is in rotation at the local alternative station. That said, it’s there with very good reason, if you ask me.
Incidentally, the HTML of the post probably looks something like this:
{iframe width=”640″ height=”390″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/-F7n6ygCdl0″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen}{/iframe}
If you change the width to 480 and the height to 290, you should be able to avoid it spilling over into the next column.
I’ll fix it when I get home.
Sons of the Pioneers erryday. I can’t get enough of this. It’s adorable hearing Come and Get It and they mention how he’s the best cook in the 48 states.
There were moms who didn’t like their kids singing those songs because they were too rowdy.
Think about that.
