Well, given Patrick’s revelations found in his Digging in the Dirt thread, I was thinking “Jeez, what song would be appropriate?”
I realize that I have already put Dan Bern’s Tiger Woods on here and so I probably shouldn’t post that again… and then it hit me. Amy Rigby.
So… what are you listening to?
(I can’t believe that that is the *ONLY* version of that song on the internet!)
I would have thought Peter Gabriel’s Digging in the Dirt might have been appropriate.
That was the theme song of the thread, not the theme song of the various folks introduced within it.
I’m listening to Ceremonials, the latest album from Florence and the Machine.
Oh, dude. I wanted to look into that. How is it?
It’s good, the sound is more consistent than Lungs, so it would seem Florence has figured out what she wants her sound to be. What the Water Gave Me and Shake it Out set the tone for the album, so if you like them you’ll like Ceremonials.
Any Incredible String Band fans, hereabouts? Wee Tam is a masterpiece. Just love it. How about Captain Beefheart, Trout Mask Replica? I’ve never heard or seen Phish–their almost cult following would leap off cliffs to follow these guys. I know this is blasphemy, but I have NEVER, for one moment, liked anything by Grateful Dead. Ever. I find their music tedious almost beyond human endurance. Much better to use for “enhanced” interrogation than water boarding. Sorry–I know that’s a bit strong. Most of my friends swear by them but I’ll gladly take my Bach to the grave, thank you. (Good choices Schilling!)
