At last night’s game, part of the post-game light discussion of what happened had the DM saying something to the effect of “I wasn’t expecting a Terry Pratchett story in Vornheim.”
So, on the drive home, I asked Maribou if I should start reading Terry Pratchett, like, for real. She said that I probably should. So I’m going to start looking into that.
So… what are you reading and/or watching?
Many free SF ebooks.
Legit free, not pirated.
Currently The New Cthulhu – The Recent Weird. My only issue is the sloppy editing. For example they used “yoke” instead of “yolk” when talking about eggs. Next up is Max Tonnies The Cryptoterrestrials published by Anomalist Books and I’ve only read a quarter of it so far. On the other hand I might read this Superman short story by Cory Doctorow where Superman’s brought up by a Jewish couple in Toronto.
Not reading but Danged if I don’t need to finish revising my Con-Geekery novel that I’m going to have to self publish….
Know anyone with good experience self publishing?
This is a question for the sidebar on the front page.
Sorry if this comes across as impersonal, just trying to help.

Also Michael R. Hicks is self-published and has written about his experience at his website.

Teacher, you should check this thread out.
We watched the new Winnie the Pooh movie yesterday, and then had to watch it again this morning. It was pretty cute, but I don’t think I could enjoy it without the toddler next to me.
just finished George R.R. Martin’s A Feast for Crows, just starting R.A. Salvatore’s The Cleric Quintet
You finished Feast? Good for you. I slogged through it for a while before putting it down several months ago. I like the first books, but have no desire to go back to crows.
