Saturday!

I’m fixing to wrap up XCOM: Enemy Unknown (my psychic soldier is seriously awesome but I’m *THIS* close to having everyone be maxed out at the highest level so I’m levelling my majors instead of using my psychic for the moment) and playing Amnesia and, seriously, it’s freaking me out. It’s awesome.

So… what are you playing?

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

    • Some weeks I’m definitely trying to invoke something in particular, some weeks I just boggle at the advertising vocabulary we used to take for granted.

      This week, it’s the latter.

    • song: awesome
everything leading up to the reveal of the food: awesome
      food: what the hell happened?

i am replaying dark souls. i was gonna buy dishonored but people i trust are hating on it – minus rockpapershotgun, mind you – as being fairly blah. and 60 bucks is a lot of dosh. i do think i’ll be buying xcom when the inevitable christmas sale rolls around, though i am not one for strategy games and missed out on the original despite having been into pc games at the time.

      • X-Com is a game that I started playing and *COULD NOT STOP PLAYING*.

Dishonored? I played it, then started playing X-Com.

        • Speaking of which: Just beat it on Normal. OH MY GOSH WHAT A GREAT GAME.

Now, I *DID* take it out and now I’m going to sort the laundry and think about playing Assassin’s Creed III (instead of starting a new game on Classic difficulty).

          So… that’s, what? 8 out of 10?

  1. I’ve decided to replay Dragon Age: Origins. I may replay Dragon Age II after that, we’ll see how it goes.

    • I loved the first one. I suppose that the best I can say about the second one is that I see what they were going for and what they were going for was worth going for.

      How’s that.

      • There’s a lot to like in Dragon Age 2. The environments are reused to the point fo self-parody, and the plot starts to fall to bits in Act 3, but there’s still a lot of good stuff in there. And let’s face it Bioware’s strength has never been their plots.

  2. I’m almost done withon Torchlight II’s NG+ with my ‘zerk.

I was all high and mighty about Dark Soul0s when it got released on PC earlier this year – saying I refused to purchase it as long as it’s gonna require Origin in addition to Steam.

Now it’s the weekend sale and I’m wondeing if getting it for $33 is a sufficient message to the publishers that I don’t want a second DRM scheme with my game or if I’m supposed to keep up my principles.

    • dude it’s so good gfwl could administer a digital exam every time you start it and i’d say “well, ok, gotta go farm souls, hurry it up” while unbuckling my pants.

      • 30 minutes of trying to sign in and still not allowed to play. Why do the people at Live still have jobs?

At the moment, I can’t think of any games that could possibly be worth this sort of hassle. ISN’T MY MONEY ENOUGH?

        • i had to set up an entirely new account actually. gfwl told me initially to gtfo.

          • I still haven’t figured out the problem, I need to get my ISP to open up my router so I can check port settings before going another round with MS support.
