  1. Man, my friends and I got into so much trouble drawing/writing stuff like this at school when I was a kid.

    • I don’t have any of my stuff from back then to compare. I think he’s better at it than I am, though. The expression on the cover is great.

  2. Did you set this up for your tiny human man? That is freaking awesome! You must be the coolest dad ever.

Are you obligated or oh so very proud? BTW, I have no idea what the comic was about, I’m just excited it is up.

    • He doesn’t know it’s up on the web yet. I need explication for the panels with little dialogue. I get that there’s a dream sequence in there, but I’m not sure what’s happening in it yet.

    • As for what it’s about… it’s all in the tag line, baby.

      “Fighting for the streets”.

      • This interests me for so many reasons. I suspect mostly because I have a little boy and have no idea on how to relate to little boys. I will never understand why he steals the wooden spoons from the dishwasher and forces me to sword-fight with him. Also, I *love* when people get creative. When kids do it, it just makes me smile all day long.

        • Once every couple of months, volunteer at your local public school to help in the second grade class.

It’s informative, if you’re not familiar with the dynamic of growing boys.

          • That is a great idea. After a period of time, I may find myself wanting to teach children or swear off teaching forever. Not sure I’m ready to give up teaching adults with disabilities yet though. Thanks, Pat.

    • His wife set it up, actually. Coolest *Mom* ever! 😉

      • *Pat’s* wife, that is. We’ve told Jack he’s too young to marry.

        • Yay, Jack’s mom! You seem like a super awesome person/parent and the league could use more girls, so double yay!!

          • Thanks! I’ve posted here a few times, but most of the time I feel highly outclassed 😉

    • I was thinking about that.

      How old is the kid?

Does Patrick have the box sets of Rocky and Bullwinkle? If not, how many comics does the kid have access to? It ain’t like back in my day when you had comics at the drugstore. Comics are at destination businesses now.

Where do they learn this stuff?

      • Jack is less than a month shy of 8. He has seen all of the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons (Grandpa bought ’em on VHS and he’s watched the series twice while we’ve been in Albuquerque for Christmas). He watched a lot of the original Johnny Quest when he was five, and then Scooby Doo and Starblazers when he was six, and this year it’s been Mythbusters and Lego Ninjago. We had a brief flirtation with Robotech, but the serial format is tough on sub-10s.

He does not have access to my comic book collection yet. The kids are going back east with Mom for her reunion the week before Memorial Day, so I think I’ll take part of that time to weed through the collection and find some issues that he can have and maul without making me cringe.

          • Oh, I forgot he’s read the first 5 Hardy Boys books.

            Those chapters are *all* cliffhangers.

          • Don’t forget all the Transformers he was watching before he got into Ninjago.

          • Transformers aren’t exactly cliff-hangy, though.

  3. There’s yellow-box commentary up now, explaining the storyline. Thanks, Kitty!

  4. PS Pat you need to update your bio to 1 dead cat and 1 new extra-needy dog who was supposed to cleave unto me because I rescued her but who loves you instead because you are the God of Small Creatures.
