I realized a few weeks back that I was burning out a little, just a little, bit. Normally, I’m able to be bright and cheerful…ish… to folks at work, from the folks I delight at seeing to the folks who do stuff like lock out all of the application server passwords and then come and get me saying “I guess I forgot the password, so could you unlock all of those accounts please?” (You know what? Anybody in the world can lock out one. I’ll even give you two. At that point, you GET THE LAB GUY BECAUSE AT THAT POINT YOU SHOULD HAVE APPREHENDED THE FACT THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW THE PASSWORDS.)
Given the fact that I haven’t had a vacation (excusing the one weekend I turned a 3-day weekend into a 4-day weekend) since Christmas, I’ve watched myself go from greeting people by saying “what’s going on, my man?” to “Dude!” to “‘sup?” to “unh”.
As such, I’m taking next week off. I hope that this will throw my proverbial Ra’s al Ghul into the proverbial Lazarus Pit and help me refind my proverbial muse. So this is a request for guest posts, or requests, or questions that you’d like to see answered, or vague rambly comments that make me think of that thing that I wanted to write about but forgot to write down that I wanted to write about them.
Which brings us to: What would you like to see more of?
I have no idea what you should/could write about, but I totally understand where you are at with the vacation. I’m taking a week in September, but I’m not sure I will get there before murdering someone at work.
Just finished with my own week vacation and I wish I could take more time off.
I like the gaming articles the best. More of those would be cool.
Rumors that I made him take the week off so someone would be around when the kitties have their post-vaccination malaise** are mildly exaggerated.
**It’s not really a post-vaccination malaise. It’s a post-terror malaise. Convincing ex-ferals that the man stabbing them with needles and checking their teeth is actually a very NICE man is beyond my cat whispering skills, and even his (“all my OTHER patients like me”)… they’re all completely tuckered out for days afterward.
(For the record, I couldn’t find the perfect wording for a sufficiently sensitive feline autism joke but I’d like to communicate that I tried to find it.)

I used to smoke there.
And now I’m thinking about smoking.
