Well, I started American Gods and I”ve already got a handful of thoughts that I need to rot13 because, seriously, you will want to read this book and I imagine you’d rather notice these things because you noticed them than because I gave you a handful of sentences.

Seriously, if you ain’t read the book, you should. Though you’re probably one of the people who told me to read it.
I also have deep suspicion that we may, in fact, be going out to a movie in a movie theater today… though I suspect that it’ll be Maribou and a friend who will be picking the title rather than anyone else who may be in the car. I’m going to pull for Wreck-It-Ralph.
So… what are you reading and/or watching?
I haven’t seen a movie in a theater for some time, but I’m thinking of breaking my fast with Lincoln.
Donald Westlake (the guy who wrote, among other things, the Parker novels and The Hot Rock), wrote one non-fiction book: Under an English Heaven, about the Anguillian Revolution of 1967-1969 against independence from the UK. It’s hard to find, but we just got a state-wide inter-library loan system.
Yeah I saw Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter on the Plane. That was kinda ok. What was truly awesome was Ruruoni Kenshin the movie.
I saw Lincoln on Saturday (not AL:VH, for the record). It’s pretty fishing good.
It has some clear Spielbergian flaws, but they’re more than made up for by the variety of facial hair seen on the various members of Congress.

I’m finishing up a reread of Lauren Groff’s Arcadia, rereading some Sandman, and dipping in and out of various Best American series.
Yeah, I suppose that’s true too. That’s the problem with being the target audience for a particular book, sometimes.
Sometimes, though, the answer to the riddle isn’t the same thing as the solution to the mystery.
That’s the problem with riddles.
And with mysteries.
I will keep that in mind as I continue to plow through.
I just can’t wait for the 27th to come. Then I can get Cold Days
We put our order in with the Amazon yesterday. In theory, it will be on our doorstep in 8 days.
I followed your example and did the same
I love “American Gods.”
And I am trying to get myself invested in the new David Foster Wallace bio, which is very dry, and presents facts without any particular insight into how they inform the personality of its subject.
