Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type.   1. My family left me. (For the weekend.) So last night I made the mistake of trying out the first episode of Game of Thrones to see what all the fuss was about. I subsequently ran through the whole season through the wee hours.

    So. now I just got back from our neighborhood book store with a dense copy of Clash of Kings.

    I also got Jon Ronson’s The Psychopath Test.

    Diving into these in the sun (along with a nap) are my entire plan for the day.

    • Geez. There is some stuff in AGoT that, well, I wouldn’t want it to be the last thing I saw before I tried to sleep in an empty house.

  3. Laying off of The Austrian and his little war for a little while to finish up a fantasy series. Currently reading The Gathering Storm, book five of Kate Elliot’s Crown of Stars series.

    • Also the title of book one of Churchill’s memoir about that war, of course.

      • In that vein, I learned a new name last week!

        Churchill called him “the corporal”. I’m going to start using that.

        • Count me in. Why have none of the histories I’ve read mentioned this important fact?

          • The full honorific was “bohemian corporal”.

            He was an artist, you see… and never got promoted above that.
