Weekend!

Holy cow, is tomorrow Friday already?

Indeed it is.

Well, after a terribly hectic week that involved the aftermath of moving the lab from this building to that building (I swear, I’ve never done that without *SOMETHING* breaking), one of the kitties having to have one of his teeth removed, and aaaaaaaaaaaaah a paper aaaaaaaaaaaaah, I am seriously ready for some not doing much of anything.

Or, at least, limiting “not doing much” to checking out Free Comic Book Day at my local dealer’s, checking out Costco, and laundry, laundry, laundry. The wacky thing about laundry these last few weekends is that we keep supposed to be having “spring” but “spring” keeps getting interrupted with “one last snowstorm”. So we keep tying to move to the whole “spring/summer” outfit routine which allows for one particular laundry philosophy (separate lights from darks, denims from delicates) but there keeps being the extra 1/2 pile of “hey, remember the good times we had?” of the autumn/winters.

And we can’t put them away in the back of the closet for the season because we keep having one last snowstorm.

So the biggest plan involves how I’m going to ponder that cosmic injustice over a bottle of something.

So… what’s on your docket?

  1. Poetry recital for the youngest tomorrow, then I’m off to Kansas City for a wedding reception which is bound to turn into a mini family reunion. Should be fun!

  2. Homework, and a variety of ways to procrastinate (including board games)

  3. work party tomorrow night, running free comic book day at work sat. morning, gamelan concert sat night.

also, aaaaaaaaaaaa I have a paper aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. though I don’t expect it to be as bad as the other paper. and when it is finished I will be DONE DONE DONE. (for the summer.)

      • That is … fascinating. I can’t actually tell whether I like it or not? Which is a musical experience I enjoy.

        • Way back when I bought my first CD of one of my (now) favorite bands, my then-girlfriend asked me if I liked it.

I said, “I’m still not sure…but I can’t seem to stop listening to it!”

          • I’ll often come across a particular piece of media where I say, “I’m not sure if I love this or hate it… but I do like it.”

    • I went to a gamelan concert a few weekends ago.
      It was absolutely awesome!
It was sizzling with energy, and totally infectious.
      … there was much trolling
(hilarious watching the Uni students panic).

      • trolling? (not sure I wanna know, but my curiosity has the best of me). agreed, it is infectious.

        • Hiding under bridges, bothering goats, the usual.

        • They had two drummers (one was the teacher, the other was from Indonesia). They were … faking each other’s beats (coming in somewhat mistimed and not in sync, deliberately). (and the drummer is the guy who’s supposed to cue the other musicians).

  4. Tomorrow is Free Comic Book day? I need to find out where our dealers are, and see if one is open early enough to take my son before I have to get him to his mom’s.

I think tomorrow will be spent fretting about how tomorrow night’s attempt at electronic board gaming will go, hopefully followed by actual playing a board game over the ether.

Sunday looks to be pretty much open. I may try to wrap up Season 3 of Arrested Development.

I still have some unpainted Dreadball minis to finish, and I may try to get to those.

I also want to dig into the LotR Living Card Game a bit more, but have not had a chance over the past couple of weekends.

American Gods is nearly finished, so I could end up binge reading.

I really have too many choices, but I am not sure what I will go with.

  5. Wishin’ Sam luck on the Marathon.
Hope he doesn’t run into me, though, because if he does, he’ll be severely lost! 😉

  6. Camping.

Oh, this means that Babylonia 2 will be off by a day, likely. I’ll try to get it up on Monday.

  7. Somebody at work brought in Rice Krispie Treats: Awesome.

    They put coconut in them.

    What the heck?

    • “lets be different!”
… in other news, Trader Joe’s krispies make EXCELLENT krispie treats.
      Highly recommended.

  8. I was going to play the board game on Saturday but there is a hiccup in the parenting schedule this weekend. It looks like I will be at a kids birthday party. Again. Maybe I’ll catch the next one.
Speaking of free comic book day, there is a new shop in a few towns over that I’ve been meaning to check out. I will also need to get yard care done before my neighbors get tired of waiting for me and just take over. It’s been sunny all week so it’s time to switch my closet over too. If I run out of ways to procrastinate I’ll finish my resume update and send it off for that job opportunity I’ve been trying not to over think.

  9. I need to do something about the fact that I am accumulating library books faster than I can read them. Until now the “something” has been to order even more of them. It hasn’t helped.
