  1. Sony gave everyone a free 45-day resubscription to all SOE computer games as a mea culpa over the recent hacking incident, so I’ve been playing Planetside again. It’s surprisingly fun now that I have enough computer to get past the half-assed job they did coding up the engine (and the internet has enough bandwidth to deal with 400 people playing an FPS at once!)

  2. I want to get Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. FNV is being played intermittently and I reckon I want to be independent of all factions. I’ve uninstalled most games on my computer and the attempt to install Sim City 4 failed because WINE is an awful, awful, awful program.

    • You should be able to pick Enslaved used for cheap (I think that Entertainmart here has it for less than $20).

I found it to be a delightful little game that didn’t do *THAT* bad when it came to updating the story for a modern audience. The “cloud”, for example, was cute. Let me know what you think.

  3. Telltale’s Poker Night at the Inventory, when I can bear it. Losing at cards to Tycho from Penny Arcade is fun. But losing to Strongbad is a blow to the ego.

    • PN@I moves too slow for me, I think I’m spoiled by all the poker games I’ve played where you can force things to speed along.

  4. I’ve set other games aside for a bit, trying to get to 1,000 hours in TF2. Not sure why or what I’ll do when I hit it, but it should be by the end of the month.

      • I’ll refrain from posting sniper frag videos, then.
TF2 is having a free trial week again on PC, by the way.

  5. Just got Infamous 2 for Dad’s Day. Camera’s a bit annoying, but it’s fun so far.

    • I still have to finish the first one… (That game strikes me as a lost opportunity for Marvel. They could have branded it as an Electro video game and given the character a face turn.)

  6. Descent! With Karyn and Kyle! Now that the boys are getting old enough to play, Karyn is rediscovering her gamer roots.

      • Incorporated the bits and pieces but played one of the scenarios out of the original. Good stuff. Double-plus thumbs up for dark priests and trolls!

        • I won’t use Trolls unless I have either an aim or the one that allows two attacks. Too risky otherwise.

I love me the Dark Priests, though.

          • They both chose tank-types and, through some lucky treasure draws, have pretty high armor values. In response, I’ve invested in “trap master” and have a deck full of blocks, pits, paralyzing gases, and mimics.

Also Deep Elves. Pierce six? Yes, please!

  7. I introduced Hannah (the 5er) to the joys of Castle of Illusion on the Sega Genesis; also played a couple of rounds of Iron Storm myself in-between garage chores.

Most of the weekend was garage chores. But I have working space in the man cave, finally.
