Wednesday!

So the music I’ve been listening to this week is off of Rod Stewart’s “Every Picture Tells a Story” which is, seriously, one of those “this guy must have sold his soul to make this album” albums. It’s absolutely transcendent. Yes, it’s got Maggie May on it (which survived that period where it was the only Rod Stewart song the classic station played even as the “Adult Contemporary” station played his more adult contemporary stuff), but it also has the brilliant “Mandolin Wind“, his version of the absolutely amazing “I Know I’m Losing You“, his brilliant cover of Dylan’s “Tomorrow is a Long Time“, and even his own version of “Amazing Grace” (with Jeff Beck on guitar) that is sung only the way that someone who sang this next song could sing it:

So… what are you listening to?

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. I’m stuck in that “in-between-bands” right now. Nothing is really grabbing me and I find myself putting my iPod on “random” just to see what comes along.
