Saturday!

I’ll tell you a secret: It’s easier to play games when Maribou is around.

That said, I’ve been playing FTL a lot. Specifically, I’ve been trying to unlock the Rock Ship. Whenever I’ve come close, I’ve ended up destroying the (x) in question instead of acting in such a way that results in me being told: “here’s the unlock you’ve been waiting for!”

It’s driving me nuts.

When Maribou is back home, I imagine it will be easier to play XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Dishonored again.

So… What are you playing?

  1. Didn’t try FTL because there is no demo. Found that out when I was getting Serious Sam: Jewel of the Nile. I am starting up my Gamefly again for two months. (Would have waited until the 30th but, with a probable Christmas trip to GA looming, I’m starting it a little early.)

  2. I was at the mall shopping, and the background music system played Year of the Cat. I hadn’t listened to that song for years, maybe decades, and I’d forgotten how great it is. And while the lyrics are quite good, evoking a certain kind of romantic fantasy, what’s really terrific is the arrangement and the up-to-the-edge-but-not quite-over-it lushness of the production. Alan Parsons rocks.

  3. I played the Tough Mudder. 12 miles of stupid obstacles, including an extended stretch of electrocution. Definitely an example of some sort of First World/White People Problems…
