So in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, I keep re-discovering the whole “OH MY GOSH I NEED MORE FUNDS OH SO VERY BADLY” thing. I’m used to games that make you husband your resources but… jeez… *THIS IS PAINFUL*. I have to go back and re-load not because my soldiers died because I was hasty but because I bought two steam-powered generators instead of just one. (BUT THE STEAM VENT CAVES WERE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER!!!)
So… what are you playing?
I misunderstood the nature of satellites and how to connect them to an uplink facility. I built my base in Europe ans was expecting to be able to build additional bases on other continents, so when I built my first sat I placed it in orbit over another Euro nation. Once I realized my mistake, I was in the hole and have now lost Mexico and America. I’m torn between trying to pull it out vs starting over with a better grasp of how the game should work. Met my first Mutons last night. Holy cow!
I’ve restarted twice.
Fixing to restart again. Each time I promise myself something like “This time I’ll always keep at least 100 in the bank, just in case!”
And then I never do…
Expect many more “Holy Cow!” moments as the game progresses.
