Sunday!

I am currently finishing up Cold Days in preparation for tomorrow. I hit the part with the guy, and then the thing, and then the other thing, and, seriously, I was wearing my Santa Suit at the time and that was *AWESOME*.

So… what are you reading and/or watching?

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. Feverishly reading the Egyptian and Gulf States press, trying to work out the extent of the damages done by Morsi’s overreach.

    • Wow. Now I feel likea slug. Blaise is learning about real world current events and I’m bragging excitedly about a sit-com. And then I wonder why I sometimes feel heavily outmanned trying to comment on here.

      • Don’t feel bad. If there is one thing I have learned around here, it’s that Blaise gets more done before breakfast than you or I get done in a fiscal quarter.

      • I rely on the League to keep me informed of things like sitcoms. Truth is, I haven’t watched a full episode of a sitcom in many years, most of them being so asymptotically dumb. Bratty kids, schlimazel parents, canned laugh tracks. But Ed O’Neill can redeem pretty much anything he’s in so I may have to take a look-see.

        • All the characters are pretty awesome, especially Cameron the more extroverted of the gay couple. I’ll try to keep you informed if I stumble across any other shows worth watching.

  2. I have recently discovered the TV show Modern Family. Got Season 1 as a Christmas gift last year and it sort of languished on a shelf until a month or so ago. I soon realized how dumb I was for not watching sooner. I went out after I finished season 1 and, despite my absolute disgust at buying anything at full price, bought the second season.

  3. I have been lazily reading the NFC blog comments on espn. All snuggled under the covers on a snowy winters morning. Then I spent five minutes correcting this comment that I was attempting to write on my kindle fire. Not only do I hate auto correct I hate not seeing the mistake until I have written twenty more words. The kindle fires click on the screen to place your cursor in the spot I want does not like me so I usually end up backspacing. Ugh!

    • Maybe we could write a little editor in Java for Android with some event handlers to support cursor movement like things oughta be.

  4. Or I guess I could get a stylus, which I would probably always lose. I’ve never found the touch screen calibration for the Kindle Fire. That is what it really needs. Maybe after finals I’ll have to try some more Android development. Wonder what it would take to write an integrated touch screen calibration, or if we could integrate that into a new browser I could use instead of the crappy one that comes with the Fire.

  5. I’ve been watching the heck out of Gilmore Girls (because I can recognize the voices & follow it even when my eyes are not so good). Read quite a bit of Listening to Madeleine L’Engle. Not really anything else. Oh, I listened to some of my Narnia audiobooks for the umpteenth time.
