As an aside, it was around that issue that I started reading Sandman. When “VERTIGO” became “VERTIGO”. I grabbed all of the new titles because, hey, not only should they be worth reading, they should be a decent investment. (And, what the heck, I was buying comics with the money I made from selling plasma.)
It was this arc in place when Sandman was shoved under the Vertigo “brand”. I found myself hypnotized and buying back issues.
I bought all the way back through A Game Of You (backwards, issues by issue) when I found the story where Martin Tenbones was finally reunited with Barbie and I was wrecked and couldn’t buy single issues anymore. Thankfully, the TPBs were out and I could buy those.
