Well, Shadow has just gone and gotten his dang self arrested and he’s watching an episode of Cheers in detention. Meanwhile, in television land, Maribou and I are in the middle of Disc 3 of Season 4 of Burn Notice (Michael Weston gets his dang self shot). And sitting on the footstool in front of the couch? JCVD. A blu-ray I picked up for 7 bucks and change that tells the story of out of work actor Jean-Claude Van Damme who happens to be at a bank when it goes and gets its dang self robbed.
All I need now is time.
So… what are you watching and/or reading?
Not exactly current, but I recently watched 3 Idiots and Kahaani. I don’t normally watch Bollywood (and I don’t understand Hindi anyway), but these 2 are gems which I would recommend to others. Make sure to get one with Subs
As far as reading goes, I’ve been reading the english translation of a japenese light novel series: A Certain Magical Index. This one is as addictive as hell at least once you get used to the writing style.
I watched the pilot of The Americans and it was pretty kick-ass. I might watch the second ep tonight if I don’t fall asleep. Everyone get in on the ground floor of this one, it seems pretty great.
Still have some Portlandia to catch up on.
I’m watching House of Cards on Netflix. I like it.
Me too. What do you think? I really liked the first episode, and feel like it’s been coasting with a few good moments since.
I’ve also been watching the Canadian show Endgame on Hulu, which I’m enjoying.
I watched Taxi Driver over the weekend, and I have finally started watching Arrested Development on Netflix. I am not sure why I never got around to watching it when it was on TV.
I read the Jerusalem Chronicles. I watched HALF of the 2nd season of Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, only to discover that the 2nd disc was cracked… waiting on a replacement, and watching the 2nd season of Republic of Doyle in the mean time (and Burn Notice, as Jay said above).
I am about to start reading a romance novel about dragons that my officemate SWEARS is really good despite the awful cover. She has been right about such things before, so I am maintaining an open mind.
I meant to say – if you like cop or PI shows AT ALL, it’s worth giving Republic of Doyle a try. Funny, well-acted, good balance between long-term arcs and murder-of-the-week.
I continued with Season 2 of Friday Night Lights. I’m dismayed to find that Television Without Pity, whose recaps I really enjoy, has been hacked.
