Wrong!

Baseball predictions completely off the top of my head…

AL East: Blue Jays, Rays*, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles

AL Central: Tigers, White Sox, Royals, Indians, Twins

AL West: Angels, A’s*, Rangers, Mariners, Astros

NL East: Nats, Braves*, Phillies, Mets, Marlins

NL Central: Reds, Cardinals, Pirates, Brewers, Cubs

NL West: Giants, Dodgers*, Rockies, Diamondbacks, Padres

(* denote Wildcard Teams)

I have the Rays over the Angels in the AL and the Nats over the Reds in the NL, with the Nats taking home the World Series Trophy.

AL MVP goes to Mike Trout and the Cy Young goes to Yu Darvish

NL MVP goes to Joey Votto and the Cy Young goes to Stephen Strasburg.

All predictions guaranteed wrong or your money back.

So… who you got?

  1. Nice. I think the Jays are going to disappoint, though, so I’ll say Rays followed by Orioles. Also, the Royals will finish last, because they’re the Royals. And the Cards will earn a wildcard and get to the NLCS, because that’s what they do.

Also, the NL CY Young will go to Matt Cain, because you gotta believe.

    • They Jays may not turn out as good as their off-season would indicate, but I don’t see any real juggernauts in the East. Even if they falter, I still think they stay ahead of the O’s, Yanks, and Sox.

As for the rest of what you say, I’d be hard pressed to make much of an argument against any of those picks. It would not surprise me to see the Giants take the West and the Cards take a WC and leave the Dodgers at home.

  2. Words cannot express how beautiful I find the prospect of a post-season without either the Red Sox or the Yankees. Although I think you’re vastly underrating the Orioles.

    • Due? Teams that haven’t won a pennant as recently as the Rockies:

      A’s
      Angles
      Astros
      Blue Jays
      Braves
      Brewers
      Cubs
      Diamondbacks
      Dodgers
      Indians
      Mariners
      Marlins
      Mets
      Nationals
      Orioles
      Padres
      Pirates
      Reds
      Royals
      Twins
      White Sox

        • The Cubs are my favorite team, too. In fact, I think the Cubs are generally people’s second favorite, and not their favorite team, unless those people are either over 100 or they enjoy pain.

          • I’ve never especially liked the Cubs. My favorites (in order) are

            Giants (that’s news, I’m sure)
            Tigers
            Pirates
            Indians

with the least favorites (worst first) being
            Dodgers (Also stop the presses-worthy)
            Yankees
            Braves
Cardinals (though better with LaRussa gone)

I’d like the Orioles if Peter Angelos weren’t such a douche.

          • Yeah, I know, though they seem to have toned that down over the last few years (maybe it’s just not winning, but maybe it’s someone realizing that is not cool). But I was born a Braves fan. Hank Aaron and Dale Murphy were preached to me from a very young age.
