Holy cow. Is tomorrow Friday already?

Indeed it is.

Well, we are in the home stretch for the year. School is, well, not winding down… not yet… but you can almost taste that it’s winding down.

Or you could, if you weren’t busy tasting final papers.

Luckily, the taste in my mouth is from the fumes of those in the house who are drinking the proverbial rocket fuel itself. As such, it’s my job to stay the heck out away from the launchpad.

So my weekend will involve buying groceries, doing laundry, and otherwise ensuring that I don’t have to have any Conversations with anyone who may not be at the top of their form due to the amount of rocket fuel they’ve been drinking. (And I’m sneaking out on Saturday night to get in some gooooood gaming!)

So… what’s on your docket?

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. My wife has been on call three days this week and is about to enter a five-day stretch of being on call plus the only other family medicine doctor in Callie is on vacation so she’s being asked to work extra clinic hours with a higher volume of patients.

What does this have to do with my docket? My weekend will be spent doing whatever it takes so that she can deal with the mountain of paperwork (charts from the extra clinic time, notes from the hospital admissions from being on call, etc.) that they have decided must be all up-to-date by Monday.

In other words, Ima have a baby glued to me. Which limits what I will be able to do.

    • Are we talking stuff like “the baby has to be in the carrier no more than five feet away” or are we talking stuff like “the baby has to be in my Over The Shoulder Baby Holder(tm)”?

Because the former allows room for xbox.

  2. I’ve been out of town working this week and was out of town last weekend for my brother’s wedding, so I’ll be rolling around in my very own bed, bathing in my very own tub, and eating in. My wine club party is on Sunday and I still need a date. I should get on that.

  3. My son plays trumpet in his school’s jazz band, and they have a concert downtown tomorrow afternoon, so I will be there.

I will be watching Babylon 5 at some point. If I can find time to fit it in, I may start watching the Evangelion reboot movies.

  4. I love the taste of rocket fuel in the morning! (And afternoon, and evening, and late at night, and… okay, I’m getting a little sick of the taste of rocket fuel. Two more weeks of this and it will be SUMMER.)
