Saturday!

I put in a pre-order for “Remember Me” yesterday. It’s got a great little conceit: you can modify the memories of the people you encounter and change the universe thereby. So let’s say that there’s a door that is locked. Instead of finding the key, you can find the person who locked it, go into their memories, and make it so that they didn’t lock the door in the first place.

Okay, that’s a dumb example. It’d be easier to get the key. But that explains the mechanism to be found in the game.

So… what are you (looking forward to) playing?

  1. The oldest boy and I played the Dragon Age RPG yesterday at Denver ComiCon. Very cool and very easy to learn. I think we’re converts. He wants to play an RPG with his friends for his birthday party and I think this is it. Well, it’s that or 2nd ed D&D…

    • I saw the Dragon Age episodes of Wil Wheaton’s TableTop, and it looked like a lot of fun. A Game of Thrones was a lot of fun. It was our second time playing, so we all understood it better. We played much more aggressively than the first time. People got angry, and backs were stabbed. It was the tensest gaming session we have had. A good time was had by all.

Greyjoy made a quick run at Lannister, and Stark made an early push to take the seas from Baratheon, keeping them from running unchecked in the south. For the early part of the game, Stark and Greyjoy left one another alone, as did Lannister and Baratheon. Later on, Greyjoy found an unoccupied Winterfell to be too inviting, and decided to push north, forcing the overextended Stark to recall his forces and retake Winterfell. With no more pressure from Greyjoy, Lannister made a sudden push to victory, taking the strongholds that were needed to win the game.

  2. I just started a playthough of Mass Effect 3 – the first time I’ve played it since it first came out.

I’m lookign forward to the new expansion for Civilisation V coming out next month.
