Saturday!

I picked up Remember Me and have played the first couple of chapters and, golly, I think I got the mechanic of memory remixing totally wrong.

I thought that remixing memories would change the universe at large and, realistically, that isn’t what happens. What happens is much more subtle. My first remix was, no spoilers, against someone who was inclined to see The Corporation as an ally and I was the biggest enemy of their ally. My remix of their memory changed an interaction they had earlier and made them see The Corporation as an Enemy and me as the biggest enemy of their enemy.

We went from “GRAH! Your butt is mine!” to “You’re going to take it to them, right?”

And it was pretty intense.

I don’t know if I can recommend it yet but it’s stuck in my brain and, honestly, I am thinking of something to compare it to and I’m not really coming up with anything.

So… what are you playing?

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

  1. I am still trucking along on Morrowind and I got to start playing M&M Duel of Champions again after waiting all week for us North Americans to get the update. I doubt my gaming habits will change significantly until Shadowrun Returns is released. When that happens, I will probably abandon Morrowind, regardless of how far along I am.
