I have picked up Civilization IV. Now what? What’s the best way for me to learn the game?
So… what are you playing?
Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com
learning to play Civ(any of them) is fairly easy. just start a standard game on the lowest difficulty setting. make sure the sid’s tips and advisor tips are on for your first few games, as there is actually good advice there. and remember to read the Civilopedia that is accessible from either the main menu or a little book icon on the top right of the game screen. you can right click on things in the city production options to be taken to the entry in the Civilopedia as well.
and then keep moving up in difficulty until you become convinced the game cheats. which it does. because the computer is a cheating b@$tard.
