Snow Day

We saw this on the hood of the junker Wednesday night. I thought the pattern of snowfall and snowmelt on the hood was interesting. I’m not entirely sure what was going on under the hood – we hadn’t run the car all day.

The next day, the yard was covered with about an inch and a half of snow. All sorts of snow fell down off the wires, trees, and rooftops all day. Although this was very pretty and peaceful, it was patently obvious at even seven in the morning that it all was going to melt. Nevertheless, many schools in the area called a snow day and neighbor kids were home for a lot of it.

Before the snow melted, though, I did accomplish one amazing thing. Yes, it’s true — I got twinkle-toes herself go outside and walk around in the snow. Karma, though, got out on the snow for literally long enough to “assume the position,” and the instant her business was done, she jumped back onto the concrete patio as if her paws were made of sugar and likely to melt in the wet.

More snow is predicted for tonight.
