We’ve had a lot of requests for pictures of Soffit House and of what we’re doing to it. Since I’ve bragged recently about the work The Wife and I have done on the kitchen, that’s where I’m complying with those requests. To give you some background, to the right you will see some pictures of what the kitchen looked like when we moved in. As you can see, everything is basic builder-white, and the only upgrades are the granite countertop and the good faucet and kitchen sink. Everything else looks pretty basic. These pictures are for reference only and do not expand. (Note, though, the dogs looking to get back inside with their people in the bottom picture They do that a lot.) Two pictures below are clickable and will expand into higher-resolution photographs. You can see the trademark soffit in one of the pictures of the kitchen; it starts next to the demi-lune window.
Non-Californians may be confused about the lack of refrigerator in the kitchen upon our move-in. This is pretty standard in California; people take their refrigerators with them when they move in and out. When you rent an apartment here, more than half the time, it comes without a refrigerator and the tenant has to buy their own. Kind of a pain.
So compare these “before” pictures to the “after” pictures below, and I think you’ll agree that we’ve made a dramatic difference.
