Rick Moran praises the original pilgrims, a politically incorrect but worthwhile endeavor. They faced daunting odds, an uncertain future, a lack of skills and tools, and a host of other challenges, and met them with tenacity, faith, and a willingness to get their hands dirty. (Note that Moran, like me, is an unbeliever but still, like me, admires the Puritans for seeking out and creating a place where they could worship and otherwise live as they saw fit.) They also created the first democratic government in North America.
