I know that a new economic stimulus is a bad idea, and I know that saving the Big 3 automakers is a bad idea — precisely because Ben Stein thinks they are good ideas. If Ben Stein can be counted on to throw his considerable intellectual heft behind such projects as Expelled: The Intellectually Dishonest Documentary About A False Crisis, then I know that I can much more safely stick to my fiscal and policy instincts and say that, “No, Ben, more government deficit spending is not the answer here.”
