Kid Chooses Prom Over Graduation

Seventeen-year-old Tyler Frost went to a Baptist high school in Findlay, Ohio. He has a girlfriend who goes to the local public high school. Tyler wanted to go to his girlfriend’s prom, but the religious types who run the school said that would be a violation of the school’s moral code which forbids dancing and rock music. They weren’t going to withhold Tyler’s diploma, which he’d already earned, but decided that if he went to the dance, he wouldn’t be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Tyler made the right choice. He went to prom with his girlfriend. Good for him.

I’ve seen the story floating around the Intertubes all week, but I finally found a story with what appears to be a picture of the young lovers, which makes it a little bit more interesting.

  1. I am a religous person, but I just don’t understand how people don’t see that religions with strict dogma are attempting to control them, thought control, brainwashing. Thats not my God. Good post.

  2. That’s gratifying to read. Thanks, Darth.
