As a follow-up to a (mostly) deliciously peaceful week in Lake Tahoe, a friend who is a Disneyphile and his wife invited The Wife and I to a double-date at Disneyland. It was during the week but it included lunch at Club 33, so of course we went. Frankly, I don’t think I can ever enjoy Disneyland again — at least, not eating there. Fortunately we have California Adventures right next to the California park so a bit of alcohol is still available, but those were strong, good drinks. The staff at the club were all visibly appreciative of the opportunity to work in that most exclusive and luxurious of environments. Didn’t recognize any celebrities amongst our fellow-diners although there were some industry types talking industry stuff. All in all, it was better than working.

I’m in an undisclosed location (easy enough to look up) wherein John Kerry and Bruce Willis both have seasonal homes. Over the past month, my trips have taken me here, through a town where Donald Rumsfeld has a ranch and another where Bill Pullman has the same.
Alas, no luck spotting these fine folks.
My daughter went to school with the offspring of Sean Penn, George Lucas, and Brad Bird. Never met any of them, other than sitting next to Robin Wright once at a back-to-school night.
Why undisclosedlocation? Living there, part-time, are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Picabo Street, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Sen. John Kerry, Clint Eastwood, Jamie Lee Curtis, Scott Glenn, Mariel Hemingway. Never been there, but it must be nice!! Enjoy, enjoy.
I tend to avoid references to real locations out of habit.
Man, with all of those people, I haven’t yet seen *anybody* famous. I feel robbed!
