Omphaloskepsis!

Still trying to find my voice, still trying to hammer things out. One thing I’ve noticed and want to apologize for is the possibility that my stuff may be read as talking down to folks who are well-versed in the topics we explore here. As I write, and backspace, and re-write, and backspace, and re-re-write, I find myself erring on the side of talking to people who don’t have a whole lot of background in these topics rather than talking to people who are neck deep in this stuff. I apologize for that, neck-deepers. As time goes on, I’ll try to calibrate my focus a little bit better.

The other thing I need to (re)state is that I see a fair-to-middlin’-to-good movie and I will spend paragraphs talking about why it sucked… and I can play a fair-to-middlin’-to-bad video game and I can spend paragraphs explaining why that time was spent better than if I had been watching the fair-to-middlin’-to-good movie. (Short version: Dopamine production)

All that to say: The Rango review is being written now and, for the life of me, I can easily see someone saying “well, *I* liked it, you should just sit back and try to enjoy things”.

Hey. This is *HOW* I enjoy things.

Anyway, back to writing.
