Walker!

There is no indication that Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome will be coming to Blu-Ray anytime soon, according to my (weak) Google-fu.

As this movie would show up, like, three times in any given one of my “Awesome Movies” lists, this makes me very, very sad. What movies are you still waiting to come out for on Blu-Ray? DVD? Videotape, for that matter?

Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

    • I was gonna say…Thunderdome is clearly the weakest of the three.

  1. I waited for 10 years for The Six Million Dollar Man to come out on DVD. It’s out, finally, on Time-Life of all things. I must buy some.

I waited however long it was for Raiders to come out on DVD. That sucked, it kept my VCR in active rotation until my last move.

There are particular translations of foreign movies that I can’t get any more: they’re apparently redone for the DVD or Blue-Ray release from the ones I have on VHS (everything I listed on that long post, essentially). This is really annoying because I don’t speak Cantonese or French and with my crazy movie quote thing seeing the dialogue change even a bit is jarrrrrring.

  2. I can’t think of much in the way of movies. They even released The Second Civil War, which HBO did everything it could to bury. TV shows are a different matter. Some of them held back due to music rights, but some of them (“The Practice” comes to mind) are inexplicable.

Twin Peaks, Maxx, and Daria were both a long time coming.

  3. I am still waiting for the second season of Firefly to come out of DVD. 🙂

  4. I would love to see Band of Brothers and The Pacific available for streaming on Netflix.
