Weekend!

Holy cow, is tomorrow Friday already?

Indeed it is.

“Dear, what are we doing this weekend?”

“I don’t remember but not a lot. Oh! We’re taking your mom out to dinner on Sunday. And you’re taking the car to the dealership on Saturday. And we’re continuing to clean up after the flood.”

“Oh. Yeah. That.”

So… what’s on your docket?

  1. Catching up on A Game of Thrones, since we’ve decided that watching two episodes in a row is optimal. This is probably old news to the people who care, but it’s been renewed for a third and fourth season, both planned to be based on the events of A Storm of Swords, which is somewhat longer than the first two books. Against that, after the extraneous material is removed from A Feast For Crows, it’ll be a 90-minute special.

  2. Burlesque show Friday night, working in the garden (neighbor gave us six! bags of Irises) MOMs day stuff and sleep, sweet sleep somewhere in there

  3. Er, that was taking your mom to lunch on Saturday, dear. FSVO taking that involves her being the one to drive. (She’s busy with the grandkids on Sunday, and we’re resting up that day. Or running errands. Or something.)

  4. Tomorrow: day off, to take kids to school and clean the house while Kitty is down for a regional PTA thing, then pick up the kids, bring them home, threaten them with death if they make any messes, feed ’em, head out to pick up son of other person going to PTA thing from after-school care, take everybody to baseball game, come home, put kids to bed, finish any housecleaning. Saturday get up, take Hannah to *her* baseball game, then her Team Party, then take kids to the school for the Latino Heritage Festival the PTA is throwing. Probably work a booth because we’re understaffed. Dinner with the in-laws. Oh, right… the in-laws are in town for Sunday morning, Jack’s First Communion. Get up early Sunday, get everyone dressed nice, go a churchin’, then back to my house with both sisters, their two kids and one husband, brother, sister in law, and three kids, parents, in-laws, Jack’s godfather, Jack’s godmother, her husband, and their two kids, the Uncle Jesuit, and have the party for Mother’s Day, the May Birthdays, and… oh, crap, right, get up extra early on Sunday to make Mother’s Day breakfast. Forgot about that. Then… ah, what? Right. Probably pass out.

You know what I’m going to do in Vegas? Sleep.

  5. To do:
    Grade quizzes (yay)
Grade classwork I had to assign due to kids needing extra practice/ semi-quiz (yay)
Write outline of problems for PreCalc (yay)
Convince 4 year old to go after more of the hidden areas on Skylanders because it’s killing me that he’s done all the missions but only gotten 1 out of 3 stars on each.
Complete Mage’s College quest line in Skyrim
Write a short story based on the theme of “Summer Love” – I’m planning on doing my “Barista goes to a guy’s funeral and spends it thinking about how much they should have been together” story and tossing in some comment about his Summer Love that she knew wasn’t going to last
Go to Mom’s for Mother’s day.
    Take Dad to see Avengers
    Sleep.

    … yay.

  6. My weekend plans (weekend away with family for Mother’s Day) have been rescheduled for next weekend due to Junior’s illness. I hear we are in for nice weather so I will be on my motorcycle and pretending I know how to take care of my yard. I plan on napping when Junior naps. You are never too old for napping.
