Weekend!

Holy cow, is tomorrow Friday already?

Indeed it is.

Well, the big thing happening this weekend is my dropping Maribou off at the airport for her to visit her family in Texas North on Saturday morning which means that I will be batchin’ it this weekend. Now, that means that Friday night will be devoted to “staying out of her way whilst she packs”. Saturday night will be playtesting some new games at gaming group (call me “The Shield” because I will be (insert punchline here)). Sunday will be spent puttering around the house sleepily.

The only bad news is that Saturday (after the drop-off), there’s a rumor of a need to put in 6-7 hours at work to catch up with the crazy that got waaaaay ahead of us this week. But, hey. It’s not like I’d be doing anything else, right?

So… what’s on your docket?

  1. Me: Texas North, huh?
Him: *laughs* I thought you’d like that.
Me: You coulda said Calgary, that would’ve been okay.
    Him: I meant *Canada*.

As if you couldn’t tell, Friday night will be packing, Saturday will be flying, Saturday night will be adjusting, and then I am going to be chilling out from Sunday-Tuesday, flying back Wednesday, and recuperating Thursday. Longest Weekend Ever.

    • Uh, I mean “longest” in the smug, self-satisfied way, in case that was ambiguous. I am superstoked about seeing my niece again, in particular.

    • It’s more fun when Maribou is around to tell something like “I can’t, I’m doing laundry.”

  2. Wife is also away, leaving tomorrow, so I will also be “batchin'” it. I’ve got a ton of errands tomorrow and an orientation for the summer gig on Saturday. Some friends are in town staying down in Hoboken, where I might set up shop for the weekend, drinking Bloody Marys and eating all sorts of Italian delicacies. Euro knockout round continues, with the glorious, proud Italians playing those limey fish from Great Britain or whatever it’s called.

    • Wife and daughter #1 left on Wednesday. Daughters #2 and #3 go to Y camp on Sunday. Me? Batchin’ it until next weekend! (Which mostly means lots of time to finish the kitchen redo.)

  3. I’m working a 9/80 during the summer, so tomorrow is off.

I’m going to be doing deconstruction in the backyard. Also maybe priming part of the house that needs paint. Oh, and working on Hannah’s dollhouse. Oh, and maybe getting up at 4:30 so that I can drive family friends Stu and Sue and their daughters to the airport.

Saturday I’ll be at the sister’s place to drop off the kiddos for an overnight, and then I’ll probably enjoy an evening with Kitty and no interruptions at dinner.

    Sunday is more of Friday.

Somewhere in there I will have a drink. Oh, I know! I’ll have that drink *right now*.

    • When you have finished working on your home you are welcome to pay me a visit. I have enough home repairs, computer issues and booze to keep you busy for a month.

    • 9/80 is…nine days and 80 hours out of every two weeks?

  4. Way too much reading to catch up on. I need to finish LBJ 3 before it has to go back to the library, but I can’t put down L.A. Confidential for too long, so they alternate, and Ubik has to be started soon.

  5. Running a Gaming Convention!

It’ll be pretty awesome. It’s the Con’s 30th year. We’ve got the Creators of Savage Worlds and Wiz War as our special guests. Anyone who can get to San Luis Obispo for the weekend should come. Check us out at polycon.org

After that, I’ll be sleeping for a month.

  6. I’ve been scheduled to start painting our deck.

We intend to take baby girl out to a botanical garden/resort one day this weekend, probably Saturday.

  7. I have family in town from the Georgia. It’s going to be aweeesoooome!

  8. Going to play Gun (PS2 version.)

Would I have done this without Red Dead Redemption? Unknown.

    • And I have to put in a few hours at work tomorrow but, since I didn’t have quite enough hours to fully fund the June vacation, I’ll bill it against the hours that I would have had NPO time.
