Thanksgiving!

Holy cow, is tomorrow buy-nothing-day already?

Indeed it is.

So we went to the sister’s husband’s mother’s for a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat (it was our responsibility to bring the pies and the wine… the best part of the meal, if you ask me) and we did the uncle thing where you yell “OPEN WIDE!!!!” and you spray whipped cream from the can directly into the mouths of the nephews while the sister and the husband quietly disapprove. They got their revenge by taking one million family pictures.

And then an entire weekend of laundry, laundry, laundry… because, lemme tell ya, I am not going anywhere even *CLOSE* to a shopping center this weekend. I hang with people who are more than happy enough to go to Kohl’s at 2AM in order to get in line so that they may buy a pair of jorts for 7 bucks off but… ugh. I don’t have the strength. Cyber Monday, here we come.

So… what’s on your docket?

  1. i gotta go buy a nice bottle of scotch and visit a friend who’s also had a mostly shit 2012 and see if we can’t hasten the year’s demise a little.

  2. On the day for giving thanks,, an outbreak of the croup scared me off of going to the big family thing, so Mrs. P. went and I stayed home with baby girl. We danced on the back porch, ran around the park for a bit, watched a few episodes of Doc McStuffins and had homemade mac and cheese.

I went in to work today, I’m just too far behind.

We’re probably taking baby girl to one of those drive around the park holiday lights things tomorrow. Sunday will be chores.

    • Croup sucks – my sympathies. I’m here or there on the good doctor.

  3. Tons of family in town, including my father, who almost didn’t make it. My sister bought car while she was in town and my lovely young brother fixed my leaky sink. I love the holidays!

Tomorrow is my friend’s bachelorette party so Junior will be staying the night with a sitter.

  4. The kids went shopping yesterday (apparently among college students it’s a thing) and report that the sales sucked. Apparently all the good deals were gone by 5 AM.
