Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

The Wife thinks we ought to eat more meals at home. And today, she did something about it. She cooked chicken scallopini with broccoli and a fresh baugette, which were waiting for me at home. Now, she’s not as experienced a cook as me and doesn’t know how to find the mid-range on the gas burner, and she burned up a lot of olive oil. Enough smoke was generated to activate every smoke detector in the house. But — she did not burn the chicken, which was tender and full of flavor. I had seconds, and I would have no matter who made it, because it really did taste good. A dinner worth getting out of the office right at quittin’ time for.

Good job, sweetie-pie! You’re the best!

  1. The smoke was to create “ambience” and the detectors were “fanfare” to welcome you home!
