It Must Grow On Trees Somewhere

Nearly fifty weeks ago, I wrote about how very, very strange and corrupt it looked when Hillary Clinton received nearly fifty thousand dollars in campaign donations from a single family in Daly City, California that reported an income that barely exceeded their political donations. So in the spirit of evenhandedness, I feel obliged to point out that it smells pretty much just as bad when John McCain somehow gets $57,000 from an oil company’s office manager and her railworker husband who rent instead of own despite the dramatically falling real estate market (if they make that much and have nearly sixty grand ready to spend, now would be the time to pounce!), and insist that their donations were legitimate.

McCain needs to return the money — it looks really, really bad and he needs to say so publicly if he’s going to keep his “integrity” card intact.
