Why Universal Health Care Will Not Be Cheaper Than What We Have Now

Dave Schuler, as so often, hits the nail right on the head — even if we had universal health care, we’d still be paying an astronomical amount of money for health care because health care providers will not accept pay cuts. Which, if true, would also mean that tort reform isn’t going to do a thing to reduce the high cost of health care in this country.

In other words, don’t blame the greedy lawyers for the high cost of health care – blame the greedy doctors. Now that is a position I can wholeheartedly endorse.
