Sendai Tsunami

The earthquake in Japan, one of the biggest on record, hit at about the time I went to bed last night. So it took my morning round of browsing and blogging for me to see the terrifying videos, photographs, and stories of the tsunami bringing in burning debris to Japan’s east coast and in particular the city of Sendai. This is a good example of how events across the globe can affect us even in our comfortable homes; as I write, the tsunami has already caused high waves in Hawaii and is expected to hit the west coast of the United States in about four hours.

Wow, maybe these guys are right after all. No, not really. But my heart goes out to the millions of people affected, and especially the families of the dozens of fatalities, in Japan. And my awe is inspired by the devastating power of nature.
