So What Did I Miss?

It’s been two weeks since I have had access to much media other than RAI 1, which my great-aunt has on at all times she is awake. Nothing big enough to make it to Italian TV news happened, it looks like. But no internet, no newspaper, very little TV. So, like, what’s going on? How did the Lakers get bumped out of the playoffs? What’s the Outrage Of The Week?

  1. Obama threw Israel unda da bus by saying that Israel would have to retreat to the pre 1967 borders. Bibi politely told him: take a flying f**k in a rolling donut; it aint gonna happen!

You did know Osama is dead, right? Obama did that too, by way of a S.E.A.L. team.

    All Hail the Emperor!

    • well that comment should provide embarrassment ot the libertarians here abouts.

      • Greginak: I doubt it; every libertarian I’ve met tends strongly away from collectivism. That’s a liberal malady we don’t typically contract.

        • I thought that the Libertarian position was “stop giving everybody foreign aid, let them sort this out themselves”.

Have I been getting the wrong newsletter?

          • Yes, you are right and that is the scenario I too would prefer. As we well know its also not the reality on the ground and hasn’t been for what, 50+ years?

          • Longer, I’d say. The Six-Day War could easily have resolved this problem for a good long time except, of course, we said “nope! stop! you have to wait until both sides are even!” and put a stop to it.

So the current state of affairs is as much “our” fault at this point.

How, other than mass expulsions or genocide?

          • Does it seem to you that “mass expulsions or genocide” have been taken off of the table?

What is an infatada if not an attempt at one or both of those?

They’ve always been off the table on the Israeli side, which is the main reason that they’re in such a dilemma.

  2. ahh yeah, but since you apparently didn’t know that its been the consensus of US presidents ( as well as international treaty conventions) for 3 decades that Israel should return to its 1967 borders the whole “throw under the bus” is just pitiful.

  3. And here I thought we were debating the collective embarrassment of libertarians to my remarks.

Presidents regularly say things they don’t really mean, particularly to Arabs, for face value and international conventions are routinely and flagrantly ignored by muslim dominated nations.
