Monday Trivia No. 18

Button Gwinnett (Georgia), Francis Lewis (New York), Robert Morris (Pennsylvania), James Smith (Pennsylvania), George Taylor (Pennsylvania), Matthew Thornton (New Hampshire), James Wilson (Pennsylvania), and John Witherspoon (New Jersey).  All signers of the Declaration of Independence. 1. They were all born in the British Isles vice North America?

  2. Is it they are left handed or widowed and not born on America soil?

    • Just not born on American soil — or rather, soil that would become the United States after they helped create this nation 235 years ago. Some were originally English, some Scots, some Welsh. All became Americans.
